Our school zone

Our school zone is available on findmyschool.vic.gov.au which hosts the most up-to-date information on school zones in Victoria. You will be zoned for just one primary school.
Students residing within our school zone are guaranteed a place at our school, which is determined based on your permanent residential address.

Our school manages enrolments using the Placement Policy to ensure that students have access to their designated neighbourhood school and may enrol at another school, if there are available places.

Our school has an enrolment restriction under section 2.2.16 of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic). Approved entry criteria for our school for the 2025/2026 school year are:

students who live within the school zone
-
students with a sibling attending the school at the same time
-
students seeking enrolment on compassionate grounds, in exceptional circumstances.
All students seeking enrolment at our school must meet one of the above criteria to be eligible for enrolment in 2026.
The department will review this enrolment restriction yearly and provide updated advice as necessary for the subsequent school year.
To assist Bentleigh West Primary School in assessing your child’s eligibility for enrolment, please provide evidence for demonstrating permanent residence in our zone. This includes copies of:
1. 12 month Rental agreements or unconditional contracts of sale plus
2. A copy of two of the following – must be no more than 3 months old:

gas or electricity bill
-
other official documentation that demonstrates permanent residency at that address such as a driver’s license, health care card or council rates, electoral enrolment confirmation
Documents should show the same address and parent’s/carer’s name as recorded on the school enrolment application form.
Enrolment applications may not be successful if the requested documentation is not provided.

2026 Foundation (Prep) enrolments
The Department of Education has released the statewide Foundation (Prep) enrolment timeline for the 2026 school year.
The timeline advises families when and how to enrol their child into Foundation (Prep) at a Victorian government primary school, including Bentleigh West Primary School.
All government primary schools will follow the timeline in 2025 to support Foundation (Prep) enrolments for the 2026 school year.

You will be able to apply to enrol your child in Foundation (Prep) 2026 at Bentleigh West Primary School from 22 April 2025.
What you need to do:

Contact our school on _______ to book a school tour or to learn more about our school and the enrolment application process.

Download the Foundation (Prep) enrolment information pack from Enrolling in Foundation (Prep) This pack includes an application form, which you can also request from our school.

Submit an enrolment application for Foundation (Prep) by Friday 25 July 2025.

You will be notified of the outcome of your application between Monday 28 July and Friday 8 August 2025. If you receive an enrolment offer, you should contact our school to accept the offer by Friday 22 August 2025. You will then be requested to complete a full application form and provide additional documents.

Take part in Prep transition sessions during Term 4, 2025.

Prepare your child to start Foundation (Prep) from Wednesday 28 January 2026.
Enrolment applications submitted after 25 July 2025 will be processed by our school as they are received, in accordance with the department’s Placement Policy.
