Curriculum program

The development of Literacy and Numeracy skills across all year levels is a priority.  The teachers monitor your child’s progress in an ongoing way and carry out rigorous assessment in Mathematics and English.  Literacy and numeracy is structured so that each child’s next steps of learning is considered.

Physical Education is taken by a specialist teacher. Our Language Other Than English (LOTE) - Italian is taught from Prep to Year 4 by a qualified LOTE teacher. Visual Arts is taken by a specialist teacher in the art room.

Media Arts is taught to all students from Prep – Grade 6, providing them with the opportunity to create, imagine and learn, using digital tools. They learn about photography, graphic design, animation and video production, using the latest technology and software.

Students have the option to enrol in a wide variety of out-sourced instrumental programs. This is a user-pay program. Students are given opportunity to extend their musical talents and interests through joining our school band and choir.

Environmental Studies, Science and Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) have a strong focus throughout the school with specialist staff and designated and well resourced rooms to support the delivery of these programs and activities such as BWTV and student lead environment activities.

Outdoor classrooms and resources also enhance learning for students: amphitheatre, hard courts, cricket nets, long-jump pit, artificial turf, large irrigated oval, walking track, fitness centre, junior and senior adventure playgrounds, wetlands area, chickens, vegetable gardens, author’s avenue, succulent garden, sensory garden, water tanks, wind turbine and a junior investigation area.
